Old Candy Store

This old photo is dated somewhere in the 30's and shows our candy store in the middle of Nevada, Ohio. By then, my family's candy store had grown into a general store that sold: car tires, gasoline, hardware, appliances, radio's & TV's, clothes and on.
 Chas.M.w/candycase

My grandpa Charles M. stands behind the old candy case that was the center piece of the store above. The bottom shelf is loaded with Toffee & Caramels. The middle shelf is full of Fudge. The top shelf (which is difficult to see in this photo) was filled with hand made nut clusters. The bags on top are filled with Toffee.
 Coons Airport

In the late 40's my Grandpa bought a farm (about two blocks from the center of Nevada!!) put in an airstrip and became a Piper Airplane dealer. Here he stands beside his PA-12 SuperCruiser talking with his friend Louie Slemmer. An old yellow J-3 Cub is in the back ground.
