Our retail outlet is located about an hour north of Columbus and an hour south of Toledo on US 23 between Marion & Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Here you will find an incredibly unique gift store. (come on in!) Our bakery turns out old fashioned pies, bread & pastries daily. Amish cheeses, jams & jellies, hand crafted baskets & metal ornamental works, along with many, many other gift items make this a GREAT day trip. Of course there are several hundred different types of candies to choose from, too!

Our candy factory is located just up the road from our retail outlet and sits on the edge of a beautiful woods. Here we make our candies that have delighted generations of candy lovers. You can follow your nose for miles to this location! The smell of candy cooking & bubbling is a treat the locals enjoy.

Insanely Great Toffee starts here in our hand made copper kettles. A simple recipe with the main ingredients consisting of Pure Butter, Sugar, and Almonds is cooked to precisely the same temperature each time. This old world recipe was perfected by my Grandfather and hasn't changed in over five generations.

Every batch we make is individually tended - start to finish - and weighs in at about 35 pounds. Here, my son-in-law Jim and daughter Rae pour a batch on a heated steel table.

Using a spatula to spread this delightful mixture to just the right thickness is a skill that requires patience in learning. Too thick or too thin is bad! It's gotta be the same "easy munching" thickness my Grandpa made. Timing is crucial too, as the batches cool quickly and must be hand stretched just a bit further.

After cooling just a bit, the Toffee is cut into rectangles about 10" X 24" and placed on adjacent tables to cool further. Chocolate is poured from our melters into bowls and then onto the Toffee to be spread from edge to edge. Just the right thickness is very important.
 
  After each piece is Chocolate covered on both sides,    a very light dusting with a special toasted Macaroon Coconut is applied. This is the only change to the very original recipe my Granddad made. He thought it looked just a little naked laying there with its beautiful chocolate coating, so he grabbed a hand full of coconut and sprinkled it on. It became a part of the recipe and has been there ever since - 86 years later !

When all the Chocolate has dried, the Toffee is moved into our cooling room to cure for 24 hours and then moved to the packaging room and placed in 1, 2, 3, or 5 pound boxes and shipped directly to you or your friends and associates around the corner or around the world.
